Ever heard of happy accidents? Pharra and Roderick met through a couple of these serendipitous moments. 16-year-old Pharra spotted Roderick at the mall while she was at work; she thought he was really cute. Luckily, Rod thought so too because he asked for her number. The two hung out a few times after that, but Rod then joined the Airforce and moved to Alaska and  they lost touch. 10 years later, Rod came back to Texas to visit family and just so happened to run into Pharra at the mall. That night, Rod asked her to dinner and as you can see, the rest is history.

Knowing Pharra’s love of Christmas, Rod convinced Pharra that he was flying her out to New York for a girls trip for her birthday. Little did she know, Rod was planning a surprise of his own. Once her and her friends made it to the Rockefeller Center, Pharra’s friends told her they wanted to take a professional picture in front of the Christmas tree. Her friends walked away and Rod appeared on his knee with the ring in hand. When she looked up, her family was there! She was genuinely surprised!
