You did the work, scoured through pinterest, made the bridal appoints, and put in the work of finding THE dress. So you deserve to be photographed in a way that captures the essence and beauty you manifest on your wedding day.
While your photographer definitely won’t miss getting a few shots of your wedding dress, we always love a bride who’s prepared. So here are a few ideas that will ensure you can beautifully capture it from more than one angle.
1. Top to toe. Once you’ve got your wedding dress on, take a full shot of your dress so that you get a good picture of what your entire outfit looks like, including your shoes and your bouquet.
2. The hanger. This is a classic shot but an absolute must. Capturing your dress on a hanger really focuses on just the dress. An added bonus is if you can hang it near a window so that your photographer can take advantage of all the natural light.
3. The side angle. Seeing your dress from the side is also really beautiful because it includes your silhouette as well as your train (if your dress has one).
4. Back details. Wedding dresses can be just as beautiful from the back as they are from the front, so get a shot at the back of your dress and of the finer details if there are any.
5. Share a moment. If you do have a flower girl, stop and share a moment with her. Could be having the dresses side by side or better yet capture the two of you together. But one thing is for sure, you’ll want to capture the emotion between you and your flower girl.
6. Getting dressed. There’s nothing quite like that moment when you put your wedding dress on so be sure to capture it. It’s also nice to get a shot of your either bridesmaids or mother of the bride straightening and fussing with your dress.
7. Your family’s reaction. Finally, don’t forget to capture the moment when your mom or dad sees you in your dress for the first time.
8. Your partner’s reaction. If you haven’t considered it, doing a first look is truly something special and it gives your photographer a chance to capture your partner’s expression when they see you in your dress for the first time.
9. Zone in on the accessories. If you’ve spent a lot of time carefully choosing the right earrings and the right shoes and all the other accessories that go along with the day, why not document it? We recommend getting a close-up shot of those details so you can remember and recall all the little things that resulted in a beautiful day.
All the shots mentioned above we know and love to document when shooting your wedding day. If you’re interested to know pricing details or what you’ll get when you book Pharris click below and submit an inquiry form with us!
