You spend so much time hunting for the perfect wedding dress, so it definitely deserves to be photographed in all its splendor.
While your photographer definitely won’t miss getting a few shots of your wedding dress, here are a few ideas that will ensure you can beautifully capture it from more than one angle.
The hanger. This is a classic shot but an absolute must. Capturing your dress on a hanger really focuses on just the dress. An added bonus is if you can hang it near a window so that your photographer can take advantage of all the natural light.
Top to toe. Once you’ve got your wedding dress on, take a full shot of your dress so that you get a good picture of what your entire outfit looks like, including your shoes and your bouquet.
Back details. Wedding dresses can be just as beautiful from the back as they are from the front, so get a shot at the back of your dress and of the finer details if there are any.
The side angle. Seeing your dress from the side is also really beautiful because it includes your silhouette as well as your train (if your dress has one).
Getting dressed. There’s nothing quite like that moment when you put your wedding dress on so be sure to capture it. It’s also nice to get a shot of your bridesmaids straightening and fussing with your dress.
Your partner’s reaction. If you haven’t considered it, doing a first look is truly something special and it gives your photographer a chance to capture your partner’s expression when they see you in your dress for the first time.
Zone in on your shoes. If you’ve spent a lot of time picking out your wedding shoes, get a close-up shot of your shoes and the end of your dress as you’re walking.
Your family’s reaction. Finally, don’t forget to capture the moment when your mom or dad sees you in your dress for the first time.
