I was quite surprised when Cassandra let me know she was a Wicken. I thought we’d shot every kind of wedding, but we definitely hadn’t! Cassandra turned out to be one of the sweetest brides I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Their wedding day, which was a few days before complete COVID 19 lock down in Dallas, was intimate and sweet, just like the way they display their love.
Cassandra and Mariusz met in high school, dated for a year and then remained friends afterward. As fate would have it, these high school sweethearts came back together again in 2016 and the rest is history! Tying the knot at the Dallas Arboretum, they kept it sweet and simple, incorporating special traditional rituals such as the tying of knots and jumping the broom among the lush pastures and gardens of Orchid Hollow.
One of the sweetest brides I’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting didn’t fall under the usual category of what you think of when you hear the word “bride.” But every woman deserves to feel her best kind of beautiful, especially on her wedding day. Being able to capture such a sweet person in the way she felt most beautiful was truly a delight and reminded us why we do what we do. Take a look below!
