Jaclyn was elated to find out about her and Blake’s baby girl! She wanted to surprise him with the news, but she knew she had to somehow keep a poker face long enough to do so! She used her lunch break to get some onesies and socks to hang up before he got home from work which made for a sweet celebration for the parents-to-be!

We asked Jaclyn how they arrived at “Felicity Lu” for their sweet girl –

“Felicity Lu means ‘joyful warrior.’ Blake had heard the name Felicity and suggested it. We both loved it, and she looks a lot like Blake, so I think it is very special that he picked out her first name. Blake’s grandmother’s name is Joyce, which also means joyful, so Felicity’s name is partially a tribute to her. Joy has just always been a very important word in our lives. Lu comes from my side of the family. My maternal great grandmother was Lula and her husband was Thomas, so naturally they named my grandmother Tommylu. My grandma named my mom Rebecca Lu. So to me Lu symbolizes a legacy of strong women, and I love that it comes from Lewis, meaning warrior.”

Felicity is their first baby, and the couple attested to the job of parenthood being the hardest yet most rewarding task they could ever do. Jaclyn expected to love her endlessly, but what she didn’t expect was for her to become her tiny best friend!
