I’m a firm believer that Jalissa’s story would make a killer episode of Say Yes to The Dress. Growing up I just LOVED watching that show and dreaming about the dress I would wear down the isle. There is so much magic you can feel when watching someone find THE dress, I just love it.
Jalissa’s finding the dress story is absolute magic so let me fill you in on all the details. It happened by accident as she was browsing through a website for a bridal shop she had no real intention in pursuing. But that’s when it happened, suddenly her eyes fixed on THE dress and at once a connection was formed. Love at first sight DOES exist. Jalissa couldn’t say which part was the reason, truly it was the dress as a whole that pulled on her heart strings. As she visually assessed the dress there wasn’t a flaw or thing to not like! The shape, style, particularly the lace detailing made it impossible to imagine herself in any other dress. But just like every woman to ever exist Jalissa feared that when she put the dress on in the shop it would lose some of the magic she felt when she first saw it. I mean we’ve all been through the horrific experience of picking out what we think will be the most terrific gorgeous outfit to ever wear only for it to be quickly taken off an returned to the clothing rack, hoping to never look at the clothing item again. Jalissa wanted to avoid heartache so she decided to make it her 4th dress to try on (also avoid ruining the vibes of the appointment). But as fate would have it, she unknowingly saved the best for last. As she stepped into the dress and the bridal consultant fit it to her body she felt s sudden glow wash over her. Nothing that she had ever worn could pale in comparison to the dress she had on. The way it sparkled had her never wanting to take it off.
Jalissa also told me that this all happened one month after engagement which was two years ago and you know what? The dress hasn’t lost any of the magic she first felt when she saw it. Now that’s a special dress and a story I definitely think TLC should consider producing.
