Kaimyn and Ezra had crossed paths a few times in college, but it wasn’t until they met on a study abroad trip to Rwanda that sparks really flew. They spent the trip at each other’s sides and quickly decided to be an exclusive couple.
After a few years of a long-distance relationship, they began living together in New York City before mutually deciding that they belonged back home in Texas. Around that time, they also learned that they were expecting a baby girl who added an extra special touch to their big day.
In planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a modern yet soft vibe that tied their love story into their celebration in as many ways as possible. The Astorian fit the bill and its old-school 1920s feel was the perfect choice for their black-tie event.
Ezra is Salvadoran and Kaimyn is half Chinese, so the pair decided to incorporate their heritage into their wedding with an eclectic blend of Asian-Latin fusion cuisine. A midnight snack of NYC-inspired coffee and doughnuts brought their stories together and captured the early stages of their relationship. From a macaroon seating chart to their show-stopping flower arch, every detail of their wedding was selected to highlight their personalities — down to their custom logo.
For the newlyweds, though, celebrating their big day was made perfect by having their one-year-old daughter at their sides. Kaimyn even designed her cute dress and had it made with pieces from her own gown — a beautiful way to honor and celebrate her parents’ marriage.
