November 15, 2021

Planning your dream wedding is a magical and fun experience, but there is a lot of work to do. I know you want to dive in, get things done and smoothly handle any and everything that may come up, but being The Boss comes with some stressful moments. Take some notes if you want to know how to make it through your wedding planning without going crazy.

Learn to Say No

Say No! NO! NO! Practice using this word because it will come in handy soon. As much as you may hate saying this to the people in your life, you will be much less stressed on the big day if you learn to say NO to commitments that may take your time away from wedding planning.

Become the Queen of Organization

You do not want to desperately dig through the bottomless pit known as your purse for receipts, invoices, or contact numbers at the last minute. Keep digital copies of your documents and other important information so you can easily access them when you need to. If you prefer paper copies, keep them all organized in a binder for efficiency.

Have Fun

I know your head hurts from all of the phone calls and appointments. Wedding planning does not have to be all work and no play. Take time off every now and then to recharge and have fun. This is going to be your big day and trust me, you do not want to show up to your wedding cranky because you chose to power through when you really needed to rest.

Get Up and Move

Get some fresh air with a walk around the park. Go to a yoga or fitness class. Ride bikes with your fiancée. Have a 20 minute dance party. Just do something to get your body moving and raise your energy level! It helps if you are in good spirits during this process.

Girl, BREATHE!

Besides the dress and the venue and everything else, you are a priority. YOU! That means you need to take care of yourself. Take a break from the planning, put the phone down, and just breathe. Relax and let go of some tension. Write “Me Time” into your weekly schedule. Don’t forget to write that in pen because it certainly is a must!

Preparing for one of the most important moments of your life does not have to wear you down. Finding the right balance between organization, planning, and self-care will do wonders for you as you get closer to the big day!
