This senior photo session at the Fabrication yard brought me and my brain right back to the days of class periods and teen angst. Do y’all remember your days of being in high school? Not sure how it can feel like yesterday and forever ago at the same time but it does. What a wild time of life those four years are, so many new things and transitions all around you it’s hard to imagine adding a cross continental move but Taylor is no average high school student. Taylor has come to Dallas all the way from the Bay Area and is attending a top performing art school in Dallas, Booker t Washington. This school is located right in the heart of downtown Dallas and all the life the city has to offer. I must comment on how amazing it is to talk with her and see her openness to new places and opportunities. There is a glimmer in her eyes of anticipation for all that Dallas holds. This senior photo session was definitely one to remember.
Taylor is the perfect example of documenting the ending of one thing and the beginning of another. I believe it’s important to take time to honor and monumentalize the old chapter so we can celebrate the new chapters even more! Senior year is one of the biggest transitions we face as we grow up and move into adulthood. It is most definitely a time that is worth remembering as one develops into the fullness of who they are.
I know in our business it’s so important to take time to reflect on how far you’ve come. Remembering and appreciating the distance you’ve made on your dreams is part of living a full life and being grateful for where you are. Photos remind me to cherish these present moments not waiting for the good to happen but making good of the current situation.
